MOVE REPUBLICAN PLATFORM TOGETHER

John and Cindy McCain are often seen together during the quest to keep Republicans in the White House.  John McCain has made it clear that his wife, Cindy, stands beside him with support, not behind him.

McCain's military and political background are extensive and he was a prisoner during the Vietnam war.

Three months later, his plane was shot down over North Vietnam, and he was captured.  After discovering his father was an admiral, he was offered to be released, but refused to be treated differently than the other prisoners.

Consequently, he was held prisoner for five years, during which time, he was tortured repeatedly, and still cannot raise his arms above his shoulders as a result of the permanent injuries.

After he returned to the U.S., he worked as a liaison to the senate until retiring in 1981.

ARIZONA POLITICAL CAREER

His retirement did not last long as he begin a political career, and successfully won a seat in Congress in 1982 and four years later was elected Senator.

SOUGHT PRESIDENTIAL NOMINATION AGAINST BUSH

In the 2000 election, he sought the Republican nomination for President against George W. Bush, but lost.  Thereafter, he returned to the Senate.

FOREIGN POLICY

McCain supported Bush's foreign policy on the Middle East, and was one of the strongest supporters to begin the war in Iraq, and thereafter to increase deployment of troops. He also strongly supports an aggressive stance against Iran, and was criticized for his song, "Bomb Iran" which he sang in the tune of "Barbara-Ann" (Beach Boys song).

OPPOSED TO TORTURE

He opposed the torture of prisoners, and proposed successful legislature to ban the use of cruel, inhumane or degrading treatment of prisoners, as he experienced this himself while being a prisoner.

FINANCES

He describes himself a s a conservative who believes in a balanced budget.

ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS

McCain co-sponsored a Bill which, if it had passed, would have supported the amnesty right of illegal immigrants who are already in America to obtain legal citizenship, but he backed an increase in border control to prevent others from entering.

PROJECTED STANCE

John McCain for President and Sarah Palin for Vice President.

John McCain and Sarah Palin

John McCain was raised in a military family with his father being an Admiral, and John educated at the Naval Academy.  Therefore, his mindset is to deal with the world in a military protocol which means warfare.  The changes he promotes are to "win" the war through increased troops instead of withdrawal in defeat.  His sacrifice as a prisoner of war for five years when he could have been set free clearly shows that he believes in fighting even to the very end.

Sarah Palin supports the killing of moose and other animals. She has encouraged her son to fight in Iraq where he has been deployed.

Your decision:  Do you want to continue war as the method for dealing with nations around the world?  If so, then commit your sons and daughters to escalating warfare with McCain and Palin because they both support the killing protocol.

John McCain is a man of war. Necessarily McCain and Palin are in opposition to the long patience of negotiation in peace talks which former President Jimmy Carter proved to be the long-lasting power of peace.
