OBAMA GAVE CANDIDATE ACCEPTANCE SPEECH AT
DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION

August 28, 2008.  Barack Obama gave a speech at the Democratic National Convention (lucky 8/28/08) to accept the nomination to be the official Democratic candidate for President of the United States, amidst the huge crowd of supporters, some of whom were from his native born Hawaii.  Text of Speech.

KENYA AND KANSAS ROOTS:
FROM DOMESTIC SERVANT TO GOAT HERDER TO COLLEGE

Obama was named after his father, Barack Obama, Sr., who came from a small village in Kenya, herding goats until receiving a scholarship to attend classes at the University of Hawaii where he met Obama's mother, Ann Dunham, a student who had moved to Hawaii from Kansas with her family. Obama's grandfather was a domestic servant to the British in Kenya.

BORN IN POVERTY
RAISED IN SINGLE PARENT HOME

Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on the island of Oahu on August 4, 1961, and after his father returned to Kenya, he was raised in a single parent home by his hard-working mother and his grandparents who struggled in the massive poverty that has prevailed in Hawaii for many generations.  With the land at premium on the islands, there is virtually no affordable housing, causing everyone to work at least two jobs at minimum wages just to afford a rat infested, termite eaten apartment.

There is no Middle Class in Hawaii and the employers are abusive.

After growing up, Obama had to leave Hawaii in order to achieve success, but took with him the Aloha of the common people who, despite all their suffering, keep their spirit alive with compassion.  It is the common people who create the strongest leaders in society because they are used to working hard for little reward, and never want to go back to the poverty from which they came.  During his childhood, Barack moved with his family for a few years in Indonesia.

EDUCATION PATHWAY OUT OF POVERTY

Obama learned at an early age that the only sure way out of poverty is through education which opens many doors of possibilities, and he disciplined himself to fulfill a college degree at Columbia University in 1983. Thereafter, he moved to Chicago and worked for the religious community, helping those who suffered job losses when the steel plant closed.

HARVARD LAW SCHOOL

Obama turned his eyes to rigorous studies at Harvard Law School, and became the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review which is a vital legal authority of lawyers and judges used for understanding and citing case law nationwide. After graduating from Harvard Law School in 1991, Obama turned to the struggling poor in Chicago and worked at a small law firm as a civil rights lawyer, and, being strongly committed to human rights, he taught Constitutional law.

CHANGE NEEDED IN POLITICS NOT PEOPLE

After implementing his knowledge with the legal issues and civil rights of the citizens, Obama learned that a change in the problems facing the people, would be achieved not by changing the people, but rather, the needed change that would help the people and lift them out of their problems would only come about by a change in politics itself.

POLITICS OF PURPOSE NOT PARTY

Obama believes in uniting the people of great diversity who make up America with the implementation of laws for all people to share equally in the benefits of the nation. This is in opposition to those who seek only to promote the interest of their own political party and who ignore the voices of those outside of their elite club.

STATE SENATOR

After being elected as an Illinois State Senator, he created the State Earned Income Tax Credit.  Further, upon the finding that several inmates on death row were innocent, Obama established statutes that required  law enforcement officials to video tape interrogations and confessions in all capital cases in order to promote accountability and responsible legal decisions to protect the innocent from being wrongly accused and erroneously convicted.

U.S. SENATOR

Obama was thereafter elected by the people as a U.S. Senator, and focused on the world as a global unit that affected us all. Even though being a Democrat, he pursued peace talks as he traveled with Republican Dick Lugar to Russia in efforts to promote the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. In this respect, Obama showed that he is willing to work with other political parties with the goal of resolving the critical issues that Americans face.

U.S. Senator Obama also championed laws that gave citizens confidence in their government through open disclosure that anyone could access over the internet.  He diligently supported ethics reform and laws to protect against corruption in our government to assure that our body of laws worked in practice as written in the statutory authority.

FAMILY LIVES IN CHICAGO

Obama married Michelle whom he met at Harvard, and supported his family while his wife gave birth to two daughters, Malia who is now 10, and Sasha, 7.  They currently have made their home in the south side of Chicago.

HERO OF THE COMMON PEOPLE
LEADER OF ALL

Obama is a hero who stood in front of every door that was locked closed and climbed over it to reach his goals, showing that no mater what the obstacles, one can even change the tide against racism that has prevented any African-American from ever running as a candidate for the President of the United States, until now.  He has showed the common people how to overcome poverty through a commitment to education with a strong will to work hard for the good of all people with the perspective of the whole world united in wisdom.

PROJECTED STANCE

With the spirit of Aloha, instilled in him from birth in Hawaii, Obama is a man of humble peace. Growing up in poverty with the mostly nonexistence of affordable housing, he has felt the pain that America is experiencing in the nationwide economic struggles. He has made his way up, not for himself, but to pull us all up with him as one big Ohana (family).

Obama is in opposition to the war in Iraq and Afghanistan and elsewhere and will lead us to peace. He is moving within the long patience of negotiation instilled with peace talks which former President Jimmy Carter proved to be the long-lasting power of peace.

Harvard trained in law, Obama has developed skills of logic which have embraced his natural talents, and it is more than probable that Obama will prove himself to be the greatest communicator of our generation, and, as such, Obama has the necessary skill and motivation to win nations worldwide with the protocol of Wisdom Peace.
