March 8, 2009.  A man shot and killed a pastor giving a sermon at the First Baptist Church of Maryville, Illinois.

The first shot went into the Bible which was shattered into confetti. Three more shots were fired as the minister tried to escape from the pulpit.

It appears that the man intended to kill many others, but after killing the preacher, his gun jammed. The man then took out a knife and began cutting those who were trying to apprehend him, and also cut himself. The man and those he cut are still alive and being treated for injuries.

We pray for all those who have suffered from this evilness and know that many lives were saved by the jammed gun, which we can truly say was an act of God interfering in the rampage of Evilness. We know that the pastor, Dr. Fred Winters, is in heaven and we know that his death was a sacrifice to save the others from harm.

God is not invisible, and when the man chose his gun, at the level of his nonconscious, he knew it was not functioning well, and, thus, God was working to stop him even before he entered the church.

There could have been many more innocent victims. God is there standing strong, even though one was sacrificed and has entered into the realm of everlasting peace and joy which is available only to those who live a good life of virtues.

The evil man will suffer with a tortured ravaging mind if he survives. If he dies, he will "not" be able to pass into the realm of God, but will be cast among those catabolic molecules that never function for anything but destruction throughout eternity.
