WAIKIKI POST OFFICE
AT SARATOGA ROAD
WRONGLY
HOLDING MAIL, PACKAGES,
AND OVERNIGHT MAIL
FOR MONTHS AT A TIME
WITH "NO" NOTICE

March 10, 2009.  The Waikiki Post Office is wrongly holding mail without giving any notice. Packages that do not fit into the post office box are held in the back, and weeks or even months later, the postal clerk finally places a notice in the postal box.

This damaging negligence is occurring even for overnight Express Mail, which is being held at the post office without notice to the addressee until months later.

This is happening to many people and is a problem that is "not" being resolved.  In fact, there are other problems, none of which are given any response nor corrected in any way.

Those who have no interest in their jobs, need to understand that many, many qualified people would like to replace them, which would be a great benefit for someone presently out of work and a great benefit for the public.

We need our mail promptly delivered with notices given at the time it is received by the post office.

It is wrong and negligent for the post office to consistently refuse to deliver mail by failing to provide a notice when it cannot fit in the post office box.

If you are having this problem, please file a written complaint after calling the Consumer Affairs Office by calling 423-3471. It is important that all complaints be in writing so that further incidents can be proven with a written history.

Also, please send an email to this news reporter so that a follow-up may be made on this problem.
