ISRAEL ON EDGE December 22, 2008. Military intelligence has revealed the possibility that technologically advanced surface-to-air S-300 missiles from Russia could be headed for Iran. The U.S. State Department spokesman, Robert Wood, along with Israeli officials are concerned that these long range anti-aircraft missiles capable of traveling 75 miles, would be a threat to Iraq, Afghanistan, and to Israel if Iran receives them. Further, it would be difficult to take out Iran's nuclear plant if defended with such sophisticated technology. Russia openly exports defensive missiles to Iran, but refuses to identify their technology. However, even if it were such advanced missiles, they are not specifically prohibited by the resolution by the UN Security Council. Perhaps, a new resolution is warranted, or, even better, more advanced peace talks so that fighting will leave the primitive arena of warfare and enter the high level of WisdomPeace as a way of solving issues. When enemies are capable of talking, then quite assuredly they should. Even if Israel decides to make a pre-emptive strike against Iran, there is no assurance that Russia will not defend with such weapons. Peace talks are vital and cannot be delayed any longer. _______________________________
Headless Peacock
Feather Designs Peacock's walk around loose at the Honolulu Zoo which is the one of the most fascinating places to visit in Hawaii, with Sumatran tigers and, zebras, rare birds including kookaburra (remember the song: kookaburra sits on the old oak tree, eating all the gum drops it can see, laugh kookaburra, laugh kookaburra, save some there for me, ha, ha, ha!) and makes the strangest bird call that permeates the entire zoo, flamingos, giraffes, hippos, apes, hyenas, and many others, along with a children's petting zoo. We can observe, through a glass window, the hippos swimming underwater. We can watch the apes playing a serious, but fun game that looks quite similar to football (but without the ball). We also see them kiss, fight, attack other animals (birds or cats), and relate to each other as a tribe. As our closest relatives, the apes show us that we have not changed as much as we should, and much of our behavior is, in fact, biological, but with an advanced mind to overcome and discipline. The must-see attractions are the apes and Sumatran tigers, but you have to be patient and wait until they come out for their natural performance to show us their unique diversity. The zoo has a special price at multiple levels available for residents, and it is a great place to have lunch and connect to the diversity of life. It has healing properties to teach us, perhaps, nonconsciously, that we are not masters over all, but are one with nature, and we will only find happiness when we are caretakers of all life, but masters over none. What sets humans apart from apes is our intelligence, but which we have not yet learned how to use as a matter of survival. Instead, because of drugs (including unnecessary medicine), our intelligence has been disrupted, and we are primarily functioning as a society of addicted hairless apes (human body but same behavior as chimpanzees) who lack self-discipline and wisdom. Just across the street is the Aquarium that has a diverse display of all kinds of fish, but since they are more expensive and have no yearly pass, I could not afford to go there, but once.
__________________________ EGYPTIAN December 25, 2008. After visiting Egypt, a man was returning home to Australia when authorities found several mummies in his luggage. They were small, such as a cat and an Ibis bird, which were sacred to the ancient Egyptians. Also found were 19 statues of gods, including Horus the falcon-headed god, and Thoth. Under Egyptian law, this rare theft carries a penalty of up to 15 years in prison.

Ape Sleeping 2008. The closest species to humans gives clues to our biological drives. They practice warfare as a challenging game of power. We evolved from the same ancestor as this ape. Our same ancestor passed on this biological drive to us and we dutifully fight wars as the primitive mind dictates. We have the Wisdom to end it -- or do we? Perhaps we, the "hairless apes," have not yet evolved to humans. Are you a hairless ape or a human being? Is the ape in you sleeping or is it awake and controlling your mind? You have the power to overcome your biological drives. That . . . is the purpose of the brain.
DOVE LOVE ___________________ HEAVY RAIN December 11, 2008 Thursday evening: Rain continues into the evening with heavy fog. Waikiki looks good and has little flooding. However, other parts of the island are suffering with parts of their roofs blown off, severe flooding of their houses, and streets blocked by floods and mudslides. We pray for their protection, and that they will stop walking in the contaminated water. WORSE STORM IN 50 YEARS Emergency shelters are open for those whose homes have been flooded and who cannot go home because of the blocked roads. Many long time residents say this is the worse storm they have seen in 50 years. It is quite strange that the Mainland news reported only storms in the Mainland South, but failed to say anything whatsoever about this fast-moving, destructive storm that has hit Hawaii. The Mainland news reporters need to include Hawaii in the news since it supposed to be an an American state. Some residents have reported lightning and thunder inland which is unusual. In Waikiki it is very, very rare for any lightening and thundering, and there has been none for this storm so far. Many homes inland have lost their electricity, but Waikiki has maintained all utilities and overall is doing very well in this challenging storm. The birds came out for awhile when the sun appeared for about an hour this afternoon, but most are under shelter in their secret hiding places. We pray for their protection, as their daily food search is interrupted by the rain, and they are very hungry. They send out messengers who search for food and then bring it back to the others whom they feed mouth-to-mouth. Few people know that grown birds feed each other in this way, but they do, and it is also a very romantic gesture to feed each other in this way. The birds also have a "fat one" who rarely leaves the group nesting area, and is quite large, and, of course, will survive in the event of catastrophic food shortage. I saw the fat zebra dove and the fat leopard dove. Fat has the important purpose for survival of the species when quality food is consumed. Updates will be made since the heavy rain is forecasted to continue through tomorrow. 6:00 p.m: Very heavy rain pouring down in Waikiki. Thursday afternoon: For about an hour, the sun came out and clearing began, but then rain clouds moved back in (4:15 p.m.) and it is raining again, at times very heavy. and there is island-wide flooding with many school closures. Also, since locals almost exclusively wear flip-flops, we are subject to dangerous infections from overflowing cesspools, storm drains, and opportunistic bacteria, viruses and viroids. If the Ala Wai Canal overflows onto the streets and sidewalks (which would only occur if constant heavy rain persists), we are really in trouble because there is some terrible flesh-eating bacteria in there. The ocean is not safe either, and the tourists need to be warned, because the Ala Wai Canal is flowing into the ocean, as well as overflowing storm drains which increase the harmful bacteria, viruses, viroids, and other species which thrive on human waste. Most of us do not have boots, but which has been recommended to wear, and, therefore, a thorough bath and good cleaning of the exposed skin is necessary. Don't underestimate the danger of microscopic species, particularly here in the tropics where many even unknown species thrive. Thursday morning:
Heavy trade winds. _________________________ DEADLINE NOW
FOR December 11, 2008. The deadline for obtaining a digital converter box before losing your television reception is fast approaching. If you order your DTV coupon today, it will not even be mailed until December 26, 2008. However, Hawaii will be switching over from analog to digital before the other states, on January 15, 2009. That means that you must order the discount coupons (limited 2 per family), and then purchase the converter box before January 15. See the list of retailers at the website where you order the coupon, including, Walmart, Target, Kmart, Best Buy, Sears, etc. Remember how products run out in Hawaii and the next shipment takes the slow boat to get here. If you do not order NOW, you may not be able to watch television for many months, unless you purchase cable. However, in this continuing economic hardship, it is not wise to spend any more than you have to. It is cheaper to convert your current television and borrow movies from the library at $1.00 each. To obtain your coupon, go to: Fill out the application, and print the receipt which tells you the date it will be mailed. This mail date is important, so print it, as it is used to calculate the 90-day expiration date of the coupons. However, it will be sent by Standard Mail, not First Class, and that means further delay of 10 or more days, but probably even longer because of the Christmas mail slowdown. The coupon expires 90 days after it is mailed. The converter box will function on your present television so that you do not have to buy a new television. If you do not subscribe to any television services for which you have to pay, then you will lose all your reception after the switch from analog reception to digital. When you turn on your television, there will only be poltergeist images. Also, it is important to know that once you purchase your converter box, you will have to scan the stations according to the directions supplied. However, you will have to do it again after 12:00 noon on January 15, 2009, and at any time that station adjustments are made. The transition may or may not run smoothly, but if your converter box stops working, then try scanning the stations again. If you have questions, the local Hawaii number where volunteers will come to your home to help is: 541-2388 or 541-2389. AUDIO AND VIDEO You will need to purchase a set of audio and video cables for your converter box if you have a VCR/DVD player without a tuner. Instructions are provided with the converter box on how to connect them. |

DIAMOND HEAD
HOLOCAUST December 29, 2008. The publication of Herman Rosenblat's Holocaust love story, Angel at the Fence, was cancelled by Berkley Books of the Penguin Group. Rosenblat was scheduled to appear on the Oprah Winfrey show to promote his book, but now admits that it is a fake, stating: "I wanted to bring happiness to people." However, he could have simply written a novel instead of falsifying the facts as a true story. People appreciate novels just as much as true stories, but nobody wants to be fooled. His book describes a love story beginning when he was a teen in a German concentration camp and a girl threw food to him over the fence. He fell in love with her, and, by chance, met her again many years thereafter when he moved to New York, and has been married to her for 50 years. Scholars, however, disputed the facts, and argued that it would have been impossible to throw food over the fence at Schlieben which was a sub-camp of Buchenwald. After mounting pressure to explain the details, Rosenblat admitted that the facts were "not" true, and that he had first met his wife on a blind date. The publisher stated that Rosenblat and his literary agent will be required to return all pre-publication money paid.

HIDDEN 4,300
YEARS December 22, 2008. Hidden for over 4,300 years in Saqqara, Egypt near Cairo, two rock tombs holding the sarcophagus of high officials of a pharaoh were discovered announced Zahi Hawass, Egypt's chief archeologist. The pyramid belonged to Queen Sesheshet. One tomb held the remains of a man, Yaamat, who was in charge of the quarries from which rock was taken to build the pyramids. The other remains was that of a lady who ran the entertainment for the pharaoh. Beyond them is a huge cemetery that will uncover mysteries of the 5th and 6th dynasties of the Old Kingdom. Hawass claims that there is much more yet to be discovered than has been previously believed. He says that only about 30 percent of the monument remains have been found, leaving much exciting possibilities remaining for archaeologists to dig

BLACK HOLE
DISCOVERED December 10, 2008. After 16 years of study, a black hole was discovered by German scientists at the center of our Milky Way Galaxy as reported in The Astrophysical Journal. A black hole is the churning E-Force of chaos that breaks down matter which is drawn into it by powerful gravity that is so strong that even light cannot escape. It is also the place of birth for galaxies. It is located 27,000 light years from Earth (158,000 million, million miles away). The study at the Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics provided empirical evidence that super massive black holes exist which confirms the theories of scientists such as Stephen Hawkings. This reminds us how temporary our planet is, and that we need to enjoy our life today and make sure that our children have a better life with each succeeding generation. ________________________________

PROPAGANDA December 28. 2008. The internet provides a great service to the community, and allows us to track the reporting of news from beginning to end. It is shocking that major newspapers are using propaganda to fool people in our society. READ MANY DIFFERENT
SOURCES It is vital to read many different sources of news, and most particularly, the independent news reports which are not owned by large political interest groups. When a political news story is tracked from the beginning to the end, there are brazen change of facts after the initial report which are promoted by the major newspapers in America. This is propaganda. This is deception. AP NEWS USING
PROPAGANDA There is also different facts reported in the U.S. than in other countries. Further, there are different facts reported by the AP news (Associated Press) which supplies most of the reports. For instance, the AP news in major newspapers reported that the U.S. is supporting a cease-fire in the Gaza. However, legitimate newspapers around the world reported that the U.S. was the only reason that the United Nations was unable to issue a decree for a cease fire in Gaza. These contradictory reports coming from the AP news which feeds virtually all of the major newspapers, including in Hawaii, is using propaganda to fool the public in America with propaganda. WALL-E December 18, 2008. This movie can be rented for $1.00 at dispensers for DVD Express. Wall-E, is a great movie for the whole family. The children will love it, and the overall theme is timely and thought-provoking. It helps to understand from the beginning that Wall-E, an old-fashioned robot with binocular eyes, is in New York in the aftermath of a nuclear war that destroyed living things on earth. Wall-E is compressing trash and collecting mementos of the life before war, such as toys and spoons, but intermittently, a fierce sandy solar wind storm hits as he closes himself up into a box and retreats underground. Wall-E has one friend, the only living creature that survived the nuclear war -- a roach -- who is his pet throughout the movie. Isn't this the truth! However, there were some humans who by chance, missed destruction, because they happened to be visiting a space station on a 5-year luxury space cruise. But, when life was destroyed on earth, their visit was extended for 700 years. As a result of the micro-gravity, the tourists endured bone loss which caused them to remain in their luxury hover chairs and eventually being unable to walk. As a consequence, all became very, very fat. They look like fat grown babies, cute and sweet. As a space ship arrives on Earth in a search-for-life mission on various planets, a technologically advanced robot, Eve, is dropped off. Eve is a powerful new robot, but becomes friends with Wall-E. As they fall in love, Wall-E gives a potted plant to Eve as a gift, and that causes her alarm to set off a signal for the space ship to return and retrieve her, because the plant was the evidence that would prove her mission to be successful -- life on a planet. The story starts off without much talking, except in robot language, but if you understand the theme, everything they do and all the scenery of New York has a great deal of personal meaning and inspiration. This movie is funny, entertaining, and thought-provoking. And, at some point, may even make you cry as it reaches into your heart. The children will love it and learn to appreciate what we have here on Earth, because if we are not vigilant, it could all be gone.

KHON2 NEWS December 2008. Andrew Pereira of KHON2 News used "Mother" to describe the evil flooding devastation as being caused by "Mother" Nature which, in function, is using "Mother" as a curse word. Do you ever use the word, "Mother" to describe anything good? Do you ever use the word "Father" to describe anything bad? Mother Nature is all living things, not the Destructive E-Forces. Would the public understand your news report if you left out the word, Mother, to describe the destruction? Mother Nature gives birth to all living things. She is "not" a destroyer, but rather, suffers from the devastation of violent storms such as this. It is time for weather forecasters and news anchors to learn the meaning of Mother and stop using her name to curse disasters of the earth. Please help to lead the way, Andrew Pereira, by joining us in stopping the use of abusive words to demean and lower the status of ladies in our society.
